8bit Thug Biography

Streamers play a major role in promoting Bgmi Mobile in India, but there are only a few of them who leave themselves behind to go ahead and represent the country professionally in an international e-sports event.
He might not be as popular as most of the Bgmi Mobile YouTube streamers in India, but 8Bit_Thug is certainly a reputation that ranks among the simplest players within the game in India. In this exclusive interview with Animesh Agarwal, 8Bit_Thug because the world knows him, talks about the high level of winning the ultimate round of the Asia Finals within the Bgmi Mobile Star Challenge, what it takes to build a professional mobile gaming team and а lot.

I am not only a professional PUBG Mobile player and a streamer but also a visionary person. Five years later, if a child goes to their parents and tells them that they want to pursue a career in mobile gaming, I want to make sure that their parents don’t rethink it. That’s my vision.

At first I never thought that we would get such an opportunity. Being in the gaming sector for almost three years, I have seen others go out and represent the country in such events, but for me personally, it was a tremendous experience. I got goosebumps after winning the 6th round of the Asia final. Wearing that Indian flag jersey was definitely a proud moment.

This year, there is going to be a PUBG Mobile India series which has already been announced, with a prize pool of Rs 1 crore. They haven’t talked much in terms of tournament details yet, but looking at what we’ve seen last year, the team that wins national level tournaments are usually invited to Asian tournaments. So it’s basically a victory that leads to another.
Now, he has promised us a lot for 2019 and based on that I am sure that there will be at least three major national level tournaments in India this year. There will be a world championship, probably at the end of the year.

I have partnered to make my team in PUBG Mobile. I met him through the game and soon realized that we share the same vision of having our own team. We partnered with the game to provide our friends who have the skills, the opportunity to leave what they do every day and focus on gaming to make a difference.

We have a lot of plans for 2019, both for ourselves and the gaming community, that we lay out. Hopefully we will announce many things this year. We will do our best to help the community and make sure that we are focused on every player who has the skills and needs the spotlight.

To own a team first you need to register the team as an organization. It comes with all the legal procedures you would need to start any firm.

How much do you pay each player? Do you provide them with the gear to play? Merchandise? If a player goes to participate in a tournament, his exact share of the winnings you are entitled to and a bunch of other things. Everything should be stated in the contracts and I am sharing this information because there are some people out there who want to start a team of their own in the near future.

Outside India, most professional teams are owned by businessmen willing to invest in gaming, but in India, things are still quite different. For example, in my case, I am not just a random owner of a team, but a teammate. Someone who sits with my teammates every day to play the same game. So I definitely feel better connected with my teammates and that also helps me understand the problems of each player.

I never introduced myself to my team as an owner. Everyone involved in a team is skilled at what they do and being on a team helps them to convince their parents that what they are doing is really something that can be made a career.

In India, if someone comes and tries to run a team like a professional e-sports organization, things will not go well. The professional gaming circle in India is still in its very early stages and unless you look at every aspect of your team to your family, everything can start falling apart.
I would never say I own a team. Everyone on my team is as much a part of this venture as I am.
